The office is in the middle of it
60 Ware Street sits a short walk from Fairfield station and the Smart Street mall, in the part of town everyone in 2165 passes through anyway. That proximity does one useful thing: the people writing your roster know the streets they're writing it for. Nobody here is looking up where Fairfield Heights ends, or guessing how long a carer needs between a job in Canley Vale and the next one up on The Boulevarde.
It doesn't mean Fairfield gets a different service to anywhere else. It means the drive is shorter when something needs sorting out in person.
What 2165 covers
Fairfield, Fairfield East, Fairfield West and Fairfield Heights all sit in the 2165 postcode and we work across all four, from the older brick-and-tile streets out in Fairfield West through to the unit blocks around the station. Carers also cross into Canley Vale, Canley Heights, Carramar, Villawood, Yennora, Old Guildford, Smithfield, Wakeley and Prairiewood as a matter of course, so if your parent has moved a suburb over to be near a daughter, nothing changes.
Assyrian, Arabic and Vietnamese in the same street
Fairfield has one of the largest Assyrian communities in Australia, alongside substantial Arabic-speaking, Vietnamese, Khmer and Spanish-speaking populations. The people who are eighty here now didn't all arrive together, and that's the part most providers miss. There's a cohort who came from Italy, Spain and South America in the seventies and have had fifty years of English. There's another who arrived from Iraq and Syria much more recently and hasn't.
For the second group, English is a working language, not a resting one. It goes first when someone is tired, in pain or frightened. A carer who can ask about a bowel movement in Assyrian Neo-Aramaic gets an accurate answer; one who can't gets a nod. Tell us the language and the dialect when you ring.
Coming home from Fairfield Hospital
Fairfield Hospital is ten minutes away at Prairiewood, and a lot of our Fairfield work starts with a discharge date that lands with almost no notice. The pattern is familiar: an admission for a fall or a chest infection, a week or two on the ward, then a phone call saying she's ready to come home on Thursday and the family is expected to have something in place.
Call us when discharge is first mentioned, not on the Thursday. In-home nursing for wound care or medication changes, personal care for the first showers, and an occupational therapy assessment through allied health are the three things that most often stop a readmission. If the assessment turns up a step or a bath that has become a hazard, home modifications follow.

Does care happen at the Ware Street office?
No. Ware Street is where coordinators and rosters sit. Personal care, nursing and everything else happens in your own home. Fairfield clients are welcome to come in and meet the team because the office is close, but there is no appointment you have to attend to receive care.
Can we get an Assyrian, Arabic or Vietnamese speaking carer in Fairfield?
Those are the three requests we hear most in 2165 and the ones we are best placed to fill. Name the language and the dialect at the first phone call. If we cannot match it we will tell you rather than send a carer who will spend every shift guessing.
Mum is being discharged from Fairfield Hospital. How fast can care start?
Ring us as soon as discharge is mentioned rather than on the day. With an approved Support at Home package, care usually starts within a week of the agreement being signed, and privately funded care can start sooner. Being ten minutes from Prairiewood helps with the first visit, but it does not remove the paperwork in front of it.
Do we need a Support at Home package before you will help?
No. Plenty of people in Fairfield start privately while an assessment is pending, then move onto Support at Home when it comes through. Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025, so that is the program you will be assessed for.
