Where we work
Our New South Wales office is on Ware Street in Fairfield, and every carer we roster in Sydney works out from there. Coverage is deepest in the suburbs immediately around it: Fairfield, Fairfield Heights, Fairfield West, Canley Vale, Canley Heights, Cabramatta, Carramar and Villawood. South-west of that we work through Liverpool, Warwick Farm, Casula and Moorebank. North, along the Cumberland line, we cover Yennora, Guildford, Merrylands, Granville, Harris Park and Parramatta. East we reach Bankstown, Yagoona, Punchbowl, Condell Park and Chester Hill.
That's the catchment, and it isn't all of Sydney. The eastern suburbs, the northern beaches, the Sutherland Shire and the Blue Mountains are past where our carers can get to on a reliable weekly roster, so we don't take work there. If your suburb isn't on the list but you're somewhere in the south-west or the middle west, ring and ask. We'd rather tell you no on the phone than sign an agreement we can't staff.

What we deliver
The whole service list is available anywhere in the catchment. Personal care and domestic assistance are where most households start, usually because showering has become the part of the day that goes wrong. In-home nursing covers wound care, medication management and diabetes support. Allied health brings physiotherapy and occupational therapy into the lounge room rather than asking someone with a walking frame to get themselves to a clinic.
Transport earns its place here more than the map suggests, because the hospitals people are sent to are rarely the ones closest to home and a specialist appointment can eat an entire day on buses. After a fall, home modifications and an occupational therapy assessment tend to matter more than extra visiting hours. We also deliver respite care, dementia care, meals and nutrition, companionship, home maintenance and care management.
Languages
South-western Sydney is one of the most linguistically diverse parts of Australia, and this is the thing we can do here that most providers can't. Around the Fairfield office you'll hear Assyrian Neo-Aramaic, Arabic, Vietnamese, Khmer and Spanish inside the same block. Cabramatta is heavily Vietnamese, with Khmer and Chinese alongside. Bankstown runs Arabic and Vietnamese. Parramatta, Harris Park and Merrylands have large Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil and Urdu-speaking populations.
For someone in their eighties, English learned at forty is the first thing that slips when they're tired, unwell or frightened. A carer who can't follow what your mother is asking for isn't much use, and an adult child translating a conversation about continence over the phone from work is worse. Say which language you want at the first call and we'll match where we can.

60 Ware Street, Fairfield NSW 2165. Open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, closed public holidays. Coordination and rostering happen there; care happens in your home. Come in and meet the team if you'd prefer to do it face to face, but nothing requires you to travel.

Which parts of Sydney does People First Healthcare cover?
South-western Sydney and the middle west. The Fairfield, Liverpool, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland and Parramatta council areas are where our carers work. We do not cover the eastern suburbs, the northern beaches, the Sutherland Shire or the Blue Mountains. If your suburb is not listed on this page, call 1800 434 002 and ask, because the honest answer takes about a minute.
Do I have to visit the Fairfield office?
No. Every service happens in your own home. Ware Street is where rostering and coordination sit, not where care is delivered. You are welcome to come in and meet the team if you would rather do it face to face, but nobody has to travel to receive care.
Can I get a carer who speaks my parent's first language?
Often, yes. Between them our carers cover the languages this catchment actually speaks, including Arabic, Vietnamese, Assyrian Neo-Aramaic, Khmer, Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin and Spanish. Tell us which language you want at the first phone call. We will match where we can and say so plainly when we cannot, rather than sending someone and hoping it works out.
How quickly can care start in south-western Sydney?
With an approved Support at Home package, usually within a week of your agreement being signed. Privately funded care can often start sooner. What sets the timing is finding a carer who suits the household, not the paperwork.
Is Support at Home the same thing as a Home Care Package?
Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. Anyone already on a package moved across. Anyone starting now is assessed for Support at Home. The idea is unchanged: an approved budget for services delivered in your own home rather than in a facility.
